And my what the fuck’s from the 2013 #MetGala - Music Superstar Edition … #Madonna wearing #Givenchy - dont get me started on Madonna …. #Beyonce also in Givenchy - the dress is sooo wrong for Bey (she looks better out of sleeveless) , makes her appear short and stumpy which is DEFINATELY NOT BEYONCE … #Kylie wearing some weak bronlow-esque gown - not appropriate for the #Punk theme … I love these women, but … honestly, come on! #Fashion #Melbourne #Post

Other Positive Notables: #NicoleRichie going all punk with the hair and makeup. LOVE the new look - Wearing #TopShop … #FlorenceWelch wearing INCREDIBLE #HauteCouture #Givenchy (which is in the blog) - the workmanship on the dress is phenominal … #SarahJessicaParker wearing #GilesDeacon, #PhilipTreacy Headpiece and of course, my favourite, @louboutinworld #shoes #fashion #Melbourne #MetGala

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN: Battle!
Battle of the design houses! An 18 month battle in the courts saw Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent fight it out over a trademark issue. The YSL Tributoo Pump replicated the famous red bottom that christian has made a name for himself with. In an interview, christian said to be copied is a compliment, however, “to be really attacked is not a compliment”. YSL believed that you can not monopolise a colour, however, i must say, that red sole is so famous that nobody should ever go near that colour! YSL’s point is true but then again, look at hermes orange, tiffany blue and even the louis vuitton brown and tan - all famous from their designs through the years and yet not many have replicated their colour schemes.

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN: The History
In light of receiving my first pair of Louboutin’s, i will be debuting a Designer profile of Christian this week; here’s a little history for you. Christian grew up surrounded by older sisters in France, dropped out of school at the age 16 and began designing shoes for showgirls. The shoes were originally designed for women in the show scene as they showed how best to walk and move in heels. He began his company in 1991 without the trademark red sole. The trademark red sole was created when one of his employees was painting her nails with red nail polish and he took to the soles of the shoes with the product. This famed colour was chosen in 1992/1993 as the woman of france were wearing all black and he wanted a pop of colour in their outfits; He also had the idea to change the colour each season. Pictured above are one of the first shoes christian developed in the early nineties.

Last Night, I was lucky enought to witness the most INCREDIBLE and BEAUTIFUL event held in Melbourne. #BestOfTheBest was a one day only event inspired by a similair event held in NYC. 40 Tables were designed by leading #Melbourne Interior Designers, landscape artists, culinary magicians, retailers and couturiers including the AMAZING #ChristineBoutique, #LouisVuitton, Paul Bangay and Stuart Rattle. The event was held to raise much needed funds for the #NGV. Im not sure what was more amazing, the Tables or the #Fashion from Melbournes crème de la crème. Simply Amazing.
